The language has been carefully selected using Collins Corpus research, so the examples show real English in context. The book has a clear, easy-to-navigate layout, simple illustrations to support key concepts, plenty of room for answers and a full answer key at the back.
It’s particularly useful as a flexible practice resource rather than something that has to be worked through from beginning to end. Pick out a unit for revision, use a few exercises after introducing a grammar point, give different students different areas to work on, or let learners use it independently when they know where their own gaps are. The answer key makes it equally suitable for classroom use and independent study.
Lair’s tip: Every now and then, give students 10–15 minutes to work on a grammar area that they think needs attention. They don’t all have to practise the same thing. One student might need another round of tense practice while someone else would benefit more from revisiting articles or conditionals. Let them work quietly, use the answer key to check their own work and come to you if something still isn’t clear. It takes no preparation, gives students some responsibility for their own progress, and lets you deal with several different needs in the same classroom.
