Want to make students think really hard about the logic of the English tense system? This game hits the spot!
The set consists of 48 cards containing 192 sentences to complete using present simple, present continuous, present perfect, present pefect continuous, past simple, used to, past continuous, past perfect, past perfect continuous, future simple, going to, future continuous, first conditional, second conditional and third conditional.
Students must fill in the sentences with the appropriate form of the verb. The gaps to fill are in different colors – blue indicates a question, green indicates a declarative sentence, and red indicates negation. A regular dice is needed for this game.
Lair’s tip: This is an absolutely brilliant game to use for revising tenses in different sentence structures. Hand out the games to see if students can apply the tense system outside the structured grammar topics.
